Frequently Asked Questions

"Who makes the pottery?"

I am the sole creator behind Jingjing Ceramics. I hand make all the items either on a pottery wheel or by hand building.

"Where are you located?"

I live in a beautiful town in Northwest Arkansas. It is a hidden gem of a city that escapes the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

One of my favorite things to do in the area is hike around the Ozark National Forest on the weekends. It's also a popular place for rock climbing, mountain biking, and home to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

"Is this food safe?"

All pieces are covered with glaze that is food safe unless otherwise specified. I do not use lead in my glaze.

All pieces are cleaned and washed prior to shipping. For added safety, please wash it with mild soap again prior to putting food in it.

My pieces are all fired using standard preparation at approximately 1945° Fahrenheit (1063° Celsius), glazed, then fired again at approximately 2269° Fahrenheit (1243° Celsius).

"Can I wash it in the dishwasher?"

The short answer is yes.

However, water and soap eventually weakens the glaze and clay body. Pieces frequently washed in a dishwasher are more susceptible to cracks and wear. I prefer washing them by hand and only occasionally wash in the dishwasher.

"When do you update your shop?"

There is no set schedule as I fire my pieces at a local studio, but the shop is usually updated every two months. I post announcements of when a batch of pieces are available in the shop via my Instagram page. If you'd like the best chance of obtaining something I strongly suggest signing up to my newsletter at the bottom of the site.

"When will my order be shipped?"

I ship to U.S. and Canada! If you are outside of these two countries, please message me for a shipping quote.

Orders will be shipped within 2-4 days, but usually it is next day.

The cost of delivery calculated during checkout is based on weight of the package and its destination. During checkout, you will be presented the available shipping options and prices.

As soon as your pieces have been handed over to the courier, you’ll receive an e-mail with the tracking number and a link to a website that will allow you to monitor the status of your delivery at any time.

"How long does it take to ship my preorder?"

Preorders have 6 weeks of creation time. If you placed a preorder, please allow 6 weeks before shipping notification gets to your inbox. Usually the timeline is shorter than 6 weeks but as I use the community kiln and rely on their schedule, I built in some buffer time.

"Do you do local pick up?"

Yes. If you live in Northwest Arkansas and would like to pick up from the fifth street studio, choose "Northwest Arkansas Local Pickup" at check out. Shipping will not be charged. If for some reason shipping was charged for local pick up, no need to worry. I will refund the shipping cost via the payment method you used.

"What about duties, customs, and additional fees?"

Please be aware that all international orders, no matter which shipping option is used, may be subject to additional duties, import taxes, or brokerage or customs fees upon delivery. These fees are calculated by customs officials and are difficult to estimate prior to shipment. While I take steps to minimize or eliminate the cost of importing for our customers, I am required by law to provide accurate information to customs officials.

Delays in customs are becoming increasingly common. Final delivery may take longer to some international destinations due to border restrictions and potential holds at customs. Unfortunately, I cannot control or prevent this type of delay.

By placing an order on our website, you are responsible for original shipping charges, all applicable custom fees and the cost of return shipping back to us. This also applies to any shipments that are refused by you at delivery.

"What if my purchase was damaged during shipping?"

Please send me a picture of the damage along with the order number within 7 days of the package arrival. I will do my best to accommodate whether the damaged goods constitutes a refund or replacement of a similar item.

"Can I cancel my order?"

I accept cancellations within 24 hours of purchasing. Please send me a message with all the order info. After the item is shipped it cannot be cancelled.

"Do you accept returns or exchanges?"

Due to the fragile nature of ceramics, I don’t accept returns or exchanges (unless it is local pickup). Please feel free to contact me if there's a problem with your order, I will always do my best to rectify the issue.

"Do you do wholesale?"

For wholesale inquiries, please email me or contact me here.

"Do you do custom order?"

Not at the moment.

"Where else can I follow you?"

I am on Instagram and YouTube. You can also reach me via email. For other locations I sell from, you can find them here.
